A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday morning at the site of what will become the new Hector P. Garcia Memorial Health Clinic.

The plan is to demolish Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital and replace it with the clinic. The emergency room services and Level 2 trauma center at Memorial Hospital will be moved to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital.

One year from today, that Health Center is expected to be open.
