The Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Foundation is proud to announce the recipient of the Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Scholarship. Pictured is Dr. Anthony Quiroz, professor of Mexican American Studies at Texas A& M Corpus Christi, Cecilia Garcia Akers, President of the Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Foundation, Daniel Yzaguirre, scholarship recipient and Jim Akers, Treasurer of the Foundation. The Foundation donated $5000.00 to the University for this scholarship.
