Honoring Dr. Hector P. Garcia, Braselton Homes new street name
CORPUS CHRISTI - Braselton Homes has named a street in the Rancho Vista subdivision after the late Dr. Hector P. Garcia as a way to celebrate the achievements of his life.
Brat Braselton, Vice-President of Braselton Homes says, That as a Native to Corpus Christi it is a privilege to be able to honor a man like Doctor Garcia.
"He was a true community builder. And uh...He was able to do things on a scale that was not only citywide...but nationwide. Uh he showed everybody here, and I came in just on the tail end of really his active days, and I've worked with his brother and his sister uh...absolutely incredible leadership", says Brat Braselton.
A dedication ceremony was set for Tuesday afternoon at the Rancho Vista subdivision, located near the corner of Airline Road and Yorktown Boulevard.
Garcia honored with street naming

CORPUS CHRISTI - Braselton Homes on Tuesday took part in the celebration of a local civil rights leader by naming a street after Dr. Hector P. Garcia.

Braselton Homes is proud to announce that a street in the Rancho Vista neighborhood on the city’s Southside has been named after Dr. Hector P. Garcia to celebrate his lifetime of achievements in Corpus Christi and all of Texas. The street was named in a ceremony at 4 p.m. January 13 at the street, in the Braselton community of Rancho Vista on the corner of Airline and Yorktown, as part of the city of Corpus Christi’s and the Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Foundation’s week long events in commemoration of Garcia’s 101st birthday.
I grew up with Dr. Garcia’s legacy, and it is such a privilege to be able to honor him in this way- Bart Braselton.
