Friends and supporters of the Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Foundation came                 

 together on January 19, 2023 at the Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi to 

honor the trailblazing civil rights leader. They were also treated to a scene

of a play based on the remarkable life of Dr. Hector put on by the Department

of Theater and Dance at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. It was also an opportunity

to meet Dr. Abel Chavez, President of Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.

Dr. Chavez was the keynote speaker at the Annual Legacy Luncheon that celebrates

Dr. Hector P. Garcia’s birthday and accomplishments.

It was a beautiful day for the Dr. Hector P. Garcia’s Birthday Memorial and Wreath-Laying Service at Seaside Memorial Park,                January 17, 2023.
